Ann Bridges moved to North Wales from Kent in 1988. She studied at Yale College and the North Wales College of Art and Design. From 1999 to 2001 she was artist in residence at Chester Zoo. She is now based in North Wales and shows regularly in group and solo exhibitions regionally and she is a member of the Royal Cambrian Academy.

Much of her current work has developed from happy childhood memories. Working from sketchbook studies, Ann creates one-off images known as monoprints. Layers of ink are then applied directly to the surface. Each layer is allowed to dry before the next is added. Areas are then wiped and drawn into, creating great richness and depth.
