Born Moravia, Czechoslovakia 1947. He came to England in 1955. Trained at Manchester and Central School of Art, London. After a short period teaching, he became a full time painter. Settled in West Yorkshire 1973. Made member of the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts 1991 and the Society of Graphic Fine Art in 1992.
