Carmen studied at Grays School of Art and was awarded post-grad. in Art. She was also a former printmaking lecturer at Grays and tutor at Peacock Printmakers and Edinburgh Printmakers Workshop. Won the Scottish Arts Council Award and The Keith Prize at the R.S.A., a professional member of the Aberdeen Artists Society and of Visual Arts Scotland and member of the Society of Scottish Artists.

She has had solo exhibitions throughout Scotland and numerous group shows throughout the UK. A regular exhibitor at the R.S.A., R.S.W.,Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts and the Society of Scottish Artists.

Represented at The Hunterian Glasgow; The Scottish Arts Council; Sheffield A.G.; City Arts Centre Edinburgh; Tayside Regional Council;B.B.C. T.V, Edinburgh University, Grampian Television and many more.
