Jan studied at Winchester School of Art and Hertfordshire College of Art and Design. She has received many awards and commissions and her work features in numerous public, corporate and private collections, in the UK, France and New Zealand.

Her paintings are inspired by the rich variety of her surroundings and create celebratory, vibrant, mixed media images of land, home and garden-scapes. She abstracts from the essence of each place to produce exuberant memories. The surface of Jan's work is very tactile. Layers of colour are built up using paint, ink and collage.

Jan has taken part in group shows at The Courtauld Institute, London; Southampton City Gallery; Stockport Art Gallery; Royal Cambrian Academy, and numerous solo exhibitions throughout Wales, where she now lives.
