Born in 1954, Joanna Martin studied art at Manchester, achieving a BA Hons. Her early career was as a graphic designer and trainer. She has also worked as a tutor and manager in adult education. Following a period of illness, Joanna has emerged into a particularly creative period involving her talents in many areas.

A very versatile and enthusiastic artist, she has been active in a variety of projects, including producing work for the recent Manchester Cow Parade. Having always been fascinated by shapes and colours, she enjoys creating patterns through a variety of media and likes painting on three dimensional surfaces. This delight in patterns and design shows strongly in her paintings.
