Born Leeds 1927, studied at Lancaster and Leeds Colleges of Art. Held membership of Manchester Academy of Fine Art and Lancashire Group of Artists. Though his roots are in the north of England, he is inspired by the rich colour experienced abroad, particularly in north Portugal.

Bonner's work changes constantly as he uses a variety of media and techniques to explain what he sees and feels. Underlying all is his his perception of the vulnerable nature of people and things.

Solo exhibitions at Salford, Manchester, Bolton., Bradford , Blackpool and Howarth Art.Galleries, Tib Lane Gallery, Manchester. Represented in Public Collections at Manchester, Bolton and Howarth Art Galleries, North West Arts and Townley Hall.
