Born
Manchester, England 1959 studied Art & Design at Stockport.
Began his career as a designer illustrator in Manchester. Left
advertising 1983 to concentrate on fine art.
First
solo exhibition in 1990 at the Tib Lane Gallery, Manchester,
followed by another in 1993. Exhibited at Manchester Academy
of Fine Arts, Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Salford Art
Gallery, Lienellyn Alexander Gallery, London, Salthouse Gallery,
St. Ives, Manchester Connections Exhibition 1992 (Peter Simmonite
Gallery, Sheffield) and Stockport Art Gallery.
He
works in pastel, oil and acrylic. His earlier work shows an
incredible sense if light and its effects. His representational
work includes moody city scapes and because of his desire
to simplify, he is constantly drawn to working in the abstract
genre.
