This
80th birthday exhibition is a celebration of Stephanie
Dingle's delightful work. Her paintings glow with colour reminiscent
of the Fauves (the name meaning 'wild beasts' was given to
a group of artists which included Matisse, Derain, Vlamink
and Marquet because of their exhiberant use of colour). Her
style is naïve and these two factors add to the joyfulness
which pervades all of her work. Her frequent visits to France
give the inspiration for many of her seascapes and landscapes,
while the inspiration for her flower paintings comes from
her own Cheshire garden.
Stephanie
is offering 'Three roses' a beautifully framed oil
painting on board (image size 7 x 9 inches) to be raffled
in aid of the British Red Cross. The draw will take place on
Saturday afternoon at 4 pm, just before the close of the exhibition
and the result will be published in the Quattro magazine,
on their website and here. This is your opportunity to
win an original oil painting for the price of a £5 raffle
ticket. Do call in and enjoy Stephanie's highly collectable
work.
