Trevor Grimshaw was born Hyde, Cheshire 1947 and died in
2001. He studied at Stockport College of Art andworked mainly
in pencil, his subjects frequently atmospheric, industrial
landscapes in monochrome.
He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Academy,
British Institute of Fine Art and elsewhere and is represented
in several public collections, including The Tate Gallery,
Salford Art Gallery, Stockport Art Gallery and Astley Cheetham,
also Granada Television, North West Arts and the B.B.C.
He illustrated "The Singing Street", a book of
poems by Mike Harding and executed lithographs for Christie's
"Contemporary Art".
A Retrospective Exhibition was held at Stockport Art Gallery
in 2004 celebrating the artist's life and work.
