Susan Brown studied at Huddersfield and Leeds and achieved B.A.Hons. in Three Dimensional Design. Her work falls into two areas, Interior Architecture and Paintings. She is an elected member of both the Chartered Society of Designers and the Society of Architectural Illustrators.
Susan has exhibited at he Royal Scottish Academy, New English Art Club, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, Mall Galleries, London and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions to name a few.
She was an award winner at the Laing Art Competition, Hunting Art Prize 1997, The Singer & Friedlander Watercolour Competition 2001 and The Penrose Purchase Prize at The Discerning Eye Exhibition 2006.
She has a very distinctive style, using watercolour and line in a deceptively free-looking manner. The apparent ease with which she portrays detail, movement and atmosphere belies the incredible planning and detail which is the backbone of her work.
Susan paints a wide range of subject, from the totally abstract , flower and still life, people and her easily recognised city scenes with her very individual portrayal of architecture.
